Att. Myles Birket Foster R.W.S. (1825-1899) - English Countryside Landscape

An interesting 19th century landscape watercolour attributed to Myles Birket Foster. This work is signed with a monogram and bears the hallmarks of the artist. It comes in an elaborate frame and has a dealer label on the back. The winding path and distant landscape show a typical English countryside scene from this period.
 
Medium: watercolour on paper, signed l.l. with monogram 'FB', 17.4 x 32.6 cm, framed.
 
Provenance: John Mathieson & Co. (20 Frederick Street Edinburgh); McTear's Art Sale December 2014, lot 1800 (sold as Attributed to Birket Foster).
 
Condition report: please see photographs. A couple of small foxing marks on watercolour and a small bit of fading. There is a small scratch on the glass on the left hand-side and the frame shows a bit of wear.
