  • Crimean War - Battle of Balaclava at Sevastopol 1854 Engraving

    SOLD

An intriguing depiction of the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War for the fort of Sevastopol. On the left hand side you can see the British Flag ship HMS Agememnon which dwarfs the picture. Then a bit to the right you can see the loading ships sending troops, canons and horses over towards the once held Russian Fort. The ships have French flags to show their alliance with the Allies. You can also see the British, French and Ottoman flags flying from the fort with many tents in the landscape for the troops to camp in.
